Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how TELEFONETICA HEALTH RX (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information from members and visitors of our website and discount plan services. By using our site or enrolling in our Plan, you agree to the practices described below.
For a quick rundown of your choices, see our Privacy Settings page.
1. Acceptance & scope
By accessing our website, enrolling in the TELEFONETICA HEALTH RX Medical Discount Plan (“the Plan”), or contacting us for support, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the site and services. This Policy applies to the website, the Plan, and all communications between you and our team — including email, SMS, telephone, mail, and any partner services we direct you to.
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to administer your membership and operate the site. Specifically:
- Identity & contact — name, email, phone number, date of birth, ZIP / postal code, mailing address, and billing address (when applicable).
- Plan enrollment — selected plan tier, billing period, dependents added to the plan, household members' names and dates of birth.
- Payment — billing amount, payment method type (card, ACH, etc.), and the last four digits of the payment instrument (full card numbers and bank credentials are handled exclusively by our PCI-compliant payment processor).
- Service usage — provider-directory searches, appointment confirmations, and any consent you grant a partner service through our site.
- Device & session — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited (for security, fraud prevention, and aggregated analytics).
- Cookies & tracking — your cookie preferences (see Cookies & tracking technologies).
You can review the data tied to your account at any time via Privacy Settings or by submitting a data rights request (see Member rights).
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Administer your Plan — enrollment, billing, renewals, and cancellations.
- Verify your identity when you contact support, request a member card, or add a dependent.
- Give access to the provider directory and any partner Services (for example, telemedicine) that the Plan unlocks.
- Send you operational communications — receipts, member-ID notifications, important Plan changes, and security alerts.
- Send you optional marketing communications — promotions, partner offers, and seasonal discounts — only if you opt in.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse — including automated checks against known bad-actor patterns.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to valid legal requests (without sharing information with immigration enforcement agencies).
- Improve the site — aggregated analytics tell us which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck.
4. HIPAA-adjacent notice
TELEFONETICA HEALTH RX is a Medical Discount Plan by Association. It is NOT health insurance, does not pay claims, and is not a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Where the Plan asks for information that could correlate with health (for example, a plan tier chosen because it includes vision or dental), we treat it with heightened safeguards — encrypted at rest, access-controlled internally, and never shared with marketing partners. We do not sell member data, and we do not share it with immigration authorities. If a future regulatory change requires us to handle such data differently, we will update this Policy and re-prompt consent.
5. Cookies & tracking technologies
Categories we use:
- Essential — Session cookies (authentication, CSRF protection, cart state). Strictly necessary for the site to function; cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — Aggregated visitor counts and pageview beacons (a privacy-respecting counter we use to understand traffic patterns). No personal data is sold. Disable any time via Privacy Settings.
- Marketing / Advertising — The Meta pixel (Facebook) used to measure advertising effectiveness and personalize our outreach on partner sites. Disable any time via Privacy Settings; disabling stops personalized ads on this site without removing them from the wider web.
See our Privacy Settings for granular toggles per category.
6. Third-party sharing
We share information only with named service partners — never with marketing list brokers or data aggregators for resale. Categories of recipients:
- Careington International Corporation — network administrator; processes eligibility and lookup requests against the provider directory and partner Services.
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processor for membership fees. Card numbers and bank credentials are handled by Stripe under their PCI-DSS certification; we never see or store the full payment instrument.
- DialCare — telemedicine partner; receives only the data you consent to at the point of service (typically the name, date of birth, and a callback number).
- Hosting, analytics, and email services — infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations at least as strict as this Policy.
We do not sell member data. We do not share information with immigration enforcement agencies. We will disclose information only when required by valid legal process or to protect against imminent harm to a member.
7. Member rights
As a member — or as a visitor who has interacted with our site — you have these rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request that we erase the data we hold, subject to legal retention requirements (see Data retention).
- Opt out of sale — we never sell your data; if this ever changes, you will be re-prompted before it takes effect.
- Opt out of marketing — flip the promotional toggle in Privacy Settings, or click unsubscribe in any marketing email.
Submit any of these via the Data rights request form, or by email to customer.care@telefoneticahealth.com. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data retention
We retain data only as long as we need to operate the Plan and meet legal duties:
- Enrollment records — 7 years post-cancellation (Florida record retention).
- Payment records — 7 years (IRS record retention).
- Marketing suppressions — indefinite (until you withdraw the suppression).
- Session cookies — up to 30 days.
- DSAR records — 3 years post-resolution (proof of compliance).
9. Children's privacy
The Plan is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Children under 18 may be added to a parent's or guardian's Plan as a dependent; we collect information that the parent or guardian provides directly. See the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for the underlying U.S. framework.
10. State-specific rights
If you are a resident of one of the following states, you have additional rights under that state's privacy law:
- California (CCPA / CPRA) — right to know, right to delete, right to correct, right to opt out of sale (we don't sell), right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we don't share sensitive data for advertising).
- Virginia (VCDPA) — right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy; right to opt out of targeted advertising (see Privacy Settings).
- Colorado (CPA) — rights analogous to VCDPA, with universal opt-out signals (Global Privacy Control). We honor GPC signals sent by your browser.
- Connecticut (CTDPA) — rights analogous to VCDPA.
We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Submit a request via Privacy Settings or by email.
11. Security safeguards
We protect your information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards:
- TLS in transit for every page and every API call.
- Encrypted at rest for sensitive fields (payment instruments, dependent DOBs).
- Access controls — only staff with a documented need can read member data.
- Periodic review of access logs and partner-service agreements.
- Prompt breach notification to affected members and regulators as required.
No security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect your account has been compromised, email customer.care@telefoneticahealth.com immediately.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes — especially anything that would broaden what we share with third parties — we will re-prompt consent on next visit. Continued use of the site or the Plan indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
13. Governing law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
